Artisanal production can be very different to industrial production. Perhaps the clearest difference, because it's absolutely crucial for our future, is the relationship with waste. In traditional artisanal production, being wasteful is almost a sin.
Until the 20th century rural communities made most of their fabrics at home, using the raw materials they had to hand, such as wool, as well as cotton or linen rags that were taken back to the loom to be used again. This mentality was mainly based on necessity, but the proximity of the land perhaps also brings the artisans a deeper understanding that in their craft, as in Nature, nothing is lost, everything is transformed.
In designing our products we always try to incorporate the values of artisanal production. In terms of the waste that is the inevitable result of producing our "capuchas", it has been transformed into a collection of "burel" accessories, a hat, a belt and a necklace, which make use of the smaller scraps left over after the capes are cut.

AGENDER HAT
A warm and waterproof handmade hat. Its classic cut means it's unisex and because it's so malleable it's easy to carry in a pocket or handbag. It's available in a variety of sizes and colours, by order.

MATCHING BELT
Available in rust or navy blue, the À Capucha! Belt was designed to tie the ladies’ Original Capucha. Burel and natural brown leather are braided by hand for this one-size (~145 cm long) belt, finished with a leather tassel at each end.

DROP NECKLace
Designed in partnership with Helena Cardoso and handmade by those who master the tradition of wool, this necklace was available in blue, mustard and rose, and was fully lined for extra comfort.
