LIBRARY OF DETAILS
2019 / POSTER / VISUAL IDENTITY / ARCHITECTURE
Vasco Vieira da Costa exhibition: Library of Details, showcased a set of drawings particularly focused on constructive solutions and details from the archive of architect Vasco Vieira da Costa.
In the 1950s and 1970s, Vieira da Costa designed a significant number of buildings that are a result of a full understanding of the weather conditions of the places where his work is featured. Vieira da Costa's knowledge of the air humidity, the prevailing winds, temperature and sunshine, as well as the sun’s apparent movements, were included in his projects through a small number of construction solutions, applied in an equally inventive and strict way.
The exhibition’s graphic identity was based on one of his drawings of a solar chart. In the form of a list of works that was also a fold out poster, the solar chart became the graphic symbol that brought together the concerns that Vieira da Costa's work focused on in the 1950s and 1970s.
